The former personal attorney for Donald Trump has stepped down as the chief federal prosecutor in the state. This decision was prompted by a judicial decision that challenged her right to occupy the role.

Acceptance of Resignation

The nation's top law enforcement official, Pam Bondi, announced the prosecutor's departure on Monday. In a statement that the judicial decision made it impossible for Habba to effectively run her office.

"Do not interpret adherence to the ruling as defeat," Habba stated. "The effort will now stretch across the nation."

Her resignation follows closely on a federal appellate panel determined that she had been serving in violation of the law as US attorney. This decision is could influence many legal proceedings in New Jersey.
